After one year studying in Paris and eating Macarons at Ladurée’s, I decided to join my interest to fairy tales and children illustration with my bakery passion, creating the project “Ginger&Jane”, a bakery and graphics blog.
The bakery identity is a magical jump in a fantastic vintage candy world. Ginger Jane is a flapper character of the Golden Twenties, who lives in cotton candy clouds and gingerbread houses.
The logo has a well decorated vintage flourish look and reproduces Ginger’s fairy atmosphere. I was inspired by Parisian Art-Deco and Liberty “fileteados”. The floral frame has two delicate swans joint with a cute bow reminding a sweet gift. Gingerbread-gold, fairy-rose and cream-white are the palettes chosen for a soften and chic bakery.
The identity reflects Ginger’s pleasant personality and is structured in a gentle and elegant way to reach the main feminine customers.
Graphics is in this project very important: Ginger&Jane is not only a bakery, it’s a fantastic world, where recipes become fairy stories and desserts dreamy moments to escape reality and inspire the imagination. It seeks to be a creative experience that combined cooking trends, design crafts and fairytales for all the young at heart.
I chose to create my own resumé reproducing my Ginger Jane alter-ego living in sugar clouds and preparing Macarons. Each step of the dessert process represents a chapter of my professional life. Softened colours and romantic graphics takes back to her dreamy cartoon world.
